Why Are Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo Waiting to Have Kids?

We've got a celeb baby update for you!

Back in August, Nick Lachey told us that starting a family Vanessa Minnillo was probably just "around the corner."

But now the 37-year-old former boy-bander tells us…

"We both look forward to a family but there's no real time table for that stuff," he said while promoting his show hit a cappella competition show, The Sing-Off. "Just whenever it happens it does and that'll be a great day."

He added, "I think we'll take a beat and enjoy being newlyweds for a minute and enjoy that and get settled into our new house and then chapter two will be the family."

So how many little ones does Lachey want? "Definitely more than one," he said. "I think I'm probably a three guy. Three to four."

As for The Sing-Off, Lachey insists he doesn't pay attention to any of the competition—i.e., The Voice, American Idol and The X Factor.

"I don't think I've ever watched American Idol to begin with so I'm kind of behind the eight ball on that," he admits. "I typically don't really watch the competing singing shows. I feel like what we do is different and unique and I've been excited to be a part of that."
