Jamie Lynn Spears Takes Time Out From Mommy Duties, Resurfaces for Nashville Show

Britney's sister, who lives in Tennessee, performs original songs she wrote for family and friends

Jamie Lynn Spears is ready for her turn in the spotlight—and it looks like she'll be taking the country route. 

Britney's younger sis took to the stage in Nashville Monday night, singing songs she wrote in front of a crowd that included her parents and friends.

So is the former child star ready to resume her career after taking a break to be a full-time mommy?

Jamie Lynn, who has been living in Nashville for the past few years with daughter Maddie, 3, certainly seems to like performing live, tweeting that she was thankful to the crowd for coming out to see her.

"Just wanna thank all my amazing friends and family for coming out tonight!!!" she wrote.

Britney, who is currently touring, was absent for her sister's concert, which was at The Rutledge, a live music venue on 4th Avenue South. 

Jamie Lynn's mom Lynne, said she was "so proud" of her daughter after watching her sing, per People. Father Jamie was also in the crowd.

"I am so emotional tonight," Lynne said after seeing the show.

Even Jamie Lynn's grandfather June Spears made the trek from the family's hometown of Kentwood, La., with some other relatives to watch his granddaughter make her debut.
