Charice Pempengco wanted justice and now it looks like she may get her wish.

The man wanted for allegedly murdering the Glee star's father, construction worker Ricky Pempengco, on Monday has surrendered to authorities in her hometown in the Philippines.

Here's what we know.

According to Manila's SunStar.com, the suspect, Angel Capili Jr., turned himself in Thursday to the chief of his village in General Trias township in Cavite province after his wife arranged his surrender.

Speaking to the press upon being taken into custody, a guilt-ridden Capili admitted stabbing the elder Pempengco, but with a screwdriver, not an ice pick as originally disclosed by local officials.

"I had really planned to surrender because what I did was wrong," he told reporters after arriving at the Philippine National Police general headquarters.

He then expressed remorse to Charice and her family: "I am seeking forgiveness from the family left behind by Mr. Pempengco...I am prepared to suffer whatever is the judgment."

Police are probing the murder, which investigators believe occurred when a drunk Capili became angry after the popster's father had brushed up against him while buying cigarettes at a local grocery store.

Capili, who's also a construction worker but did not know Pempengco, is said to have stabbed the 40-year-old in the chest and back. He then evaded a dragnet for the past two days by sleeping at bus stations until deciding to give himself up.

Meanwhile, after canceling a concert in Singapore and flying back to Manila, Charice gave an interview to a local radio station on Wednesday in which she reportedly called for justice for her slain dad, with whom she had been estranged since he left her when she was 3.

"Whoever did this must be brought to justice," she said.

She has since reconciled with his family. A funeral for Pempengco is set for this Saturday in his hometown in Laguna.
