Calling all badass chicks. We've got three of ‘em with major ‘tude who are all the faces of megafranchises.
And while we love Kristen Stewart for her (original) don't-give-a-crap attitude and Jennifer Lawrence for her comfort in gettin' down and dirty for a big role, we must admit we are falling hard for Rooney Mara, whose tough-girl transformation in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has us wondering if she might be the baddest be-yotch of them all.
But no doubt, Kristen Stewart has made the grudge look cooler than ever, so what's so different about Mara? And why is she perfect for this role?
And that weirdo flair is exactly why Mara makes the ideal Lisbeth Salander. She is a brilliant combination of intelligence, looks and a quirky 'tude that makes the character relatable despite the intense storyline and violent scenes.
Also, another Girl source tells us, "[Rooney] is fearless—fearless like I've never seen before."
Gosh, thought that title belonged just to K.Stew! Guess it can be shared, no?
Also, guess Mara ain't scared of ghosts, either: During the Vogue interview, she lunched at her favorite park, which happens to be a cemetery and posted up on a tombstone to picnic. Strange much? Hardly in the eyes of Rooney, who also claims she has "really enjoyed being a boy this last year" as she embraces the transformation for the role.
And while K.Stew almost tries a bit too hard to be badass (come on, did she really need all those F-bombs to express her feelings over Snow White), Mara seems totally at ease with her bleached-out eyebrows and body full of piercings—all of which were done in one day.
Lucky for Mara, her bizarre personality and unique look is exactly what helped her land the highly coveted role, beating out beauties such as Scarlett Johansson, who, according to Fincher, had a "great audition...but the thing with Scarlett is, you can't wait for her to take her clothes off."
Sounds a bit similar to why Jennifer Lawrence landed her role as Ree Dolly in Winter's Bone. After all, not every Hollywood beauty is down to skin a squirrel for a flick.
So while we love all three chicks and are equally obsessed with each franchise, we have to wonder if Rooney Mara may have the perfect amount of punk to pull it off better than our other two faves.
A question we can't even believe we're asking!
So, who's going to do badass best? Sound off.
