Some couples are torn apart by infidelity. David Boreanaz says his extramarital affair made his union to wife Jaime Bergman stronger.

Believe it, or not...

In a revealing interview with TV Week, the Bones star calls his 2010 fling "a bonding experience, in the long run."

He and Bergman, who have two children together, Jaden, 9, and Bella, 2, married in 2001 after less than a year of dating. Boreanaz admits that their marriage has had "fantastic moments" and "extremely rocky moments," just like in any other relationship.

"In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," says Boreanaz, 42. "There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you."

Boreanaz and Bergman took on those demons, and apparently it worked.

"Do I believe in giving up? No, I don't," Boreanaz says. "I'm a fighter. I'm a lover."

UPDATE: A rep for Boreanaz later said, "David did not talk directly to TV Week. His recent quotes were from a press conference on behalf of Bones and taken out of context."
