Our countdown to Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' wedding special continues as we celebrate the creative ways celeb couples find to tie the knot.

Next on our list remarkable weddings is the faux royal union of Victoria (nee Adams) and David Beckham...

When: July 4, 1999

Where: Ireland's Luttrellstown Castle

On the List: There were just 29 close friends and family members at the ceremony. But some 230 guests, including the Spice Girls, attended the reception, which had a staff ratio of approximately two-to-one.

Can't Top This: At the time, Posh and Becks were just that Spice Girl and her soccer-playing hubby to American audiences. But over in the U.K. this was a celebrity union of epic proportions. And the headline-happy couple didn't disappoint.

So what makes their wedding so special? Well, there was a purple flag initialed VBD (for Victoria, baby Brooklyn and David) that was raised above the castle after the couple recited their vows; his ‘n' hers golden thrones at their reception; and a purple party suit for the groom but the topper had to be the nude sculpture of the happy couple crowning their wedding cake.

Not only do we love the quirky personal touches the Beckhams brought to their special day—it beats the chicken dance!—but it would seem the (slightly narcissistic) couple found a perfect match in each other. Victoria and David celebrated their twelfth anniversary this summer, just days before the birth of their fourth child.
