While the cast of Mad Men preps for today's 63rd Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, show star January Jones is most certainly at home with her newborn bundle of joy, Xander Dane.

Mad Men's head honcho Matthew Weiner confirms the first-time mother will not be hitting to red carpet this afternoon.

So how's Jones doing?

"She's doing great," Weiner told us yesterday at BAFTA's Pre-Emmy tea party in Beverly Hills, adding, "I think it was a long labor."

"She is going to be welcomed with tremendous enthusiasm when she comes back [to set]," Weiner says of the 33-year-old actress, who worked all the way up until she gave birth earlier this week. "She's a very athletic person so I don't think she had that hard a time with it. It was great to have her there."

So is Weiner ready for babysitting duty?

"No!" he said. "On set, yes. On set I wouldn't mind having another baby there."

As for today's awards ceremony, Weiner has not prepared a speech in the very likely case the hit AMC show wins for Best Drama.

"I'm very superstitious," he smiled. "I haven't prepared anything so far. I don't know. I always end up saying something stupid even when I've got a piece of paper in front of me."
