    Weekend Wrap-Up: Emmys! Emmys! Emmys! (Plus, Sinéad's Scary Tweets and a Real Housewives Bloodbath)

    The Emmys are over already?! Whew. We had the show covered—from the red carpet to the backstage scoop. Of course, there was plenty of other news this weekend, including Sinead O'Connor's suicidal Twitter drama, a Real Housewives house-cleaning, a box-office flashback and much, much more.

    Emmy Time! The gowns stole the show once again as consecutive wins by Mad Men and Modern Family made TV"s biggest kudosfest a bit of a routine affair. Not that there weren't some exciting upsets (ahem, Kyle Chandler!) and interesting moments (Charlie Sheen vs. Ashton Kutcher, etc.), so that's why we've handily provided the most awesome red-carpet quotes and the best and worst moments from the show.

    Behind-the-Scenes Drama: Before the show even started, there were controversies galore, with Alec Baldwin pulling out of a video montage over a joke, while Charlie Sheen's ex-Two and a Half Men bosses sought to have him removed as a presenter over fears he might diss them. In the end, he took the high road.

    • Party Time: Prior to Emmy night, Katie Holmes, Miley Cyrus, E!'s own Ryan Seacrest and girlfriend Julianne Hough, Minnie Driver and more were on hand for CAA's annual pre-Emmy bash Friday night.  Meanwhile, Sofía Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jenna Ushkowitz and other kicked up their heels at Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film's shindig. Over at L.A. Confidential's event, Emmy Rossum mingled with costar William H. Macy, while John Hamm showed up at the Producer's Peer Group soiree to honor Mad Men honcho Matthew Weiner.

    • Housewives Shocker: Bravo confirmed our earlier reprort that Real Housewives of New York City stars Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon, Jill Zarin and Cindy Barshop will not be returning to the show for season five.

    Next Stop, Oscar? Lebanese director Nadine Labaki took home the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival Sunday for the Middle Eastern drama Where Do We Go Now?, besting entries starring the likes of Brad Pitt and George Clooney

    • It's a Wrap: Melissa Rivers announced that she and live-in boyfriend Jason Zimmerman had called it quits after nearly three years.

    • Opening Up: Sinéad O'Connor opened up about her suicidal Twitter rant, urging fans to speak out if they have suicidal thoughts and get help for their issues.

    • Blast From the Past: The 3-D update of The Lion King ruled at this weekend's box office, raking in $29.3 million. Contagion grabbed the second spot at $14.5 million, followed by Drive at $11 million. 

    • Like a Skyscraper: During a sit-down with Ellen DeGeneres, Demi Lovato syas she wants to be a role model for girls and help them avoid societal pressures she faced to be thin.

    • BFF Break-up: In the wake of the end of their six-month stint as BFFs, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert hugged sang it out with a hilarious rendition of "Somewhere Out There."
