Believe it or not, some people don't keep up with the Kardashians.
While Kim Kardashian was surrounded by flashbulbs at Vera Wang's Spring 2012 runway show, one of the front-row dignitaries went unnoticed—and ignorant about the focus of the paparazzi's attention.
She which VIP is out of touch with reality...TV?
Unlike the Kardashian newlywed, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright—who happens to be great friends with wedding dress diva Vera Wang—went largely unnoticed.
When we informed the puzzled diplomat who the subject of the commotion was, we were met with a polite smile...and that was it. Not a hint of recongition.
But hey, she's busy. One thing Albright does know, however, is fashion. Dressed in a black leather skirt accessorized by a chunky gold necklace, the erstwhile Bill Clinton cabinet member told E! News she loves Vera's clothes.
"I'm into Vera," she said. "She's just fabulous and I love the things that she designs—we are friends."
Albright was seated with her granddaughter, whom she brought along to see the show.
As for her leather skirt, Albright told E! News that she "just tried to not look dowdy today."
Harper's Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey was then overheard gushing to Albright about her choice of accessories, calling her a "trendsetter."
Seated across the runway in a beautiful blue one-shouldered gown, Kim, whom Vera Wang dressed for her wedding, was surrounded by so many flashbulbs she needed extra security. Instead of new hubby Kris Humphries, Kim brought her best pal La La Anthony to the show. Adding even more wattage to the show's starpower were Beyoncé (with baby bump!) and her sister, Solange.
Vera Wang herself, whose show featured a dreamy Alice in Wonderland theme with bright lights and a gleaming white runway, was spotted before the start doing a final sweep of the room, greeting photographers and checking to see that everything was perfect before disappearing again backstage.
