One of the Jonas Brothers is set to make his big-screen acting debut in a movie that he'll not only star in, but also produce.

Is it Nick? How about Joe? Or perhaps Kevin is ready for his silver-screen closeup?

It's Joe!

While he did tell me in June he was working on developing a flick, he now has the money to see it through.

"I was in Mexico City last week and my manager called me and said, 'The movie's financed!'" the 22-year-old "See No More" singer told me exclusively at mtvU's Lifebeat benefit at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. "I was, like, in tears."

Jonas didn't want to reveal too much about the storyline, but said he'll star as a "young man who is finding himself."

"The storyline is still bare bones, but I will say he has a specific dream that he wants to accomplish, and it's the good and the bad he has to go through to get there," he said. "It's going to be an older-feeling kind of movie."

In other words, it's no Jonas Brothers 3-D concert flick.

"It's a little bit of everything," Jonas said. "One of my favorite movies is The Four Feathers, and that has everything. It has funny, romantic, passionate...I want to do something like that."

Based on the 1902 adventure novel of the same name, Feathers starred Heath Ledger, Kate Hudson and Wes Bentley.

Jonas also revealed that the script is being written by Robert Munic, the creator of A&E's gritty drug drama series The Cleaner and a cowriter of Channing Tatum's 2009 flick Fighting.
