25 to 1: Now! Nabs Chart Crown

Twenty-five is traditionally a silver anniversary, but for Now!, it's pure gold.

For the week ended Sunday, the 25th installment of Now That's What I Call Music! crowned the charts with nearly 223,000 copies sold, according to the latest Nielsen SoundScan figues.

The hits compilation—featuring such firepower as Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend," Fall Out Boy's "Thnks fr th Mmrs" and Ne-Yo's "Because of You"—is the 11th album in the series to debut at number one. It's also the fourth straight Now! collection to hit the top spot, with the previous entry climbing a notch after originally opening at number two.

Nevertheless, Now! 25 did have the lowest debut sales week since Now! 13, which moved 171,000 copies in its opening week.

Still, Now! 25 sold enough to fend off Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus' 113,000-copy week and to knock T.I. vs. T.I.P. from the top spot, dropping the multiple-personality rapper down to three on 94,000.

The week's second-best bow belonged to Malibu singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat, whose Coco sold 51,000 copies at number five on the strength of a massive MySpace following and an iTunes Single of the Week freebie, "Bubbly." Due largely to "Bubbly," Caillat had spent four months as the top singer in her genre on MySpace's unsigned chart.

While only two new albums cracked the Top 10, two previously released discs jumped in this week. Thanks to the film's success at the box office, the Hairspray soundtrack leapt 16 spots to number four on 72,000 copies, a 95 percent gain.

Meanwhile, Nickelback's All the Right Reasons demonstrated why it’s the Energizer Bunny of the album charts. With a three-spot jump to nine in its 94th week, the album's tally now sits at 5.6 million copies and it's still going, going, going strong.

Other Top 10 repeat offenders included Fergie's The Dutchess at six, Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight at seven, Amy Winehouse's Back to Black at eight and Bon Jovi's Lost Highway in the ten spot.

Missing the Top 10 by fewer than 2,000 discs, Yellowcard's Paper Walls sold nearly 41,000 copies to clock in at 13.

Rooney's Calling the World, whose cover pays homage to the Doors, debuted at 42 on 15,000 copies, while Rocket Summer blasted into the 44 spot with Do You Feel selling nearly as many copies.

Other noteworthy debuts included Tech N9ne's Misery Loves Kompany at 49, the Chemical Brothers' We Are the Night at 65, MXPX's Secret Weapon at 76, the Legally Blonde: The Musical Broadway cast recording at 86 and Todd Agnew's Better Questions at 100.

Though not a new album, the High School Musical soundtrack is surging on the charts, jumping 50 spots to 52 over the past two weeks. The 80-week-old soundtrack benefits from star Zac Efron's turn in Hairspray and promotion for the upcoming High School Musical 2.

In fact, over on the singles chart, the HSM2 players sang and danced their way into the top spot this week with the new soundtrack's lead single, "What Time Is It."

To recap, the Top 10 albums were:

1. Now That's What I Call Music! Vol. 25, various
