Hilary Duff has been on a roll lately: a wedding, a just-announced pregnancy and a totally killer movie role.
Following in the footsteps of Faye Dunaway, the actress landed the plum part of Clyde Barrow's bankrobbing girlfriend, Bonnie Parker, in the upcoming remake of the 1967 classic Bonnie & Clyde.
But now comes word that the actress is out and the movie's director has gone searching for a replacement.

In an official statement given to E! News, producers of The Story of Bonnie and Clyde say they will have to recast the part because Duff's pregnancy conflicts with shooting set for the fall (not to mention the physical demands of a role that involves robbing banks and stuff). Not only that, but Kevin Zegers, who's slated to play Clyde, is also out as well, though not because he's expecting.
"We were told that Duff would not be available until June 2012 and that Zegers would not be available until January of the new year," read the statement. "Due to our obligations with investors and international buyers it is imperative that we stick to our current schedule. Therefore we are forced to explore other options for the two lead roles."
The decision to part ways was said to be amicable and "happens all the time in the world of filmmaking."
The 23-year-old Duff confirmed on her blog last week that she and hubby Mike Comrie were expecting their first child.
A rep for the actress was unavailable for comment.
