Gérard Depardieu is throwing himself a real pee-ty party and is apparently really sorry for his first-class act of disgust—well, his friend says he is, anyway.

By now you know that the French acing legend relieved himself on the carpet after his flight was delayed on Wednesday and the flight crew denied him entry to one of the restrooms.

While Depardieu has yet to address the matter, his traveling companion that day has just issued an apology on the star's behalf.

Fellow actor and Depardieu pal Edouard Baer claims his friend had not been drinking, but that the 62-year-old has prostate problems.

Then he issued a half-apology on his pal's behalf. Oh, and added that he would have mopped up the mess himself.

"Gerard was upset at this and offered to clean up the mess," Baer said in a statement translated by the BBC. "He has prostate problems and it was very worrying and humiliating for him. He was also stone-cold sober at the time. This is not the way he usually behaves."

We hope not.

A fellow passenger on the flight to Ireland earlier told French radio station Europe 1 that the actor had been yelling, "Je veux pisser [I want to pee)"! to no avail. That passenger also said it appeared the star had been drinking.

Following the leaky Depardieu mess, the jet was forced to return to the gate and all 127 disembarked. The flight was held up another two hours while ground crew cleaned up the mess.

It's unclear what kind of charges Depardieu will face, if any. Besides humiliation by urination, of course.
