If Rhys Ifans can get out of this snafu, just think of what's to come when he plays Spidey's main nemesis, Lizard, in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man flick.

Following an odd incident at Comic-Con in which the Welsh actor was busted after reportedly roughing up a security guard, it was announced Friday that no charges will be filed.

"Our office will not be filing charges," a rep for the San Diego City Attorney's Office told E! News. "After reviewing differing witness accounts, our prosecutors concluded there was not sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt."

Ifans was originally cited with misdemeanor battery after the purported spat (which happened right before he was set to appear on a panel with the rest of the film's cast).

At the time, several guards told E! News there was some "pushing and shoving" between Ifans and the security guard before he was issued the citation.
