Could voters in the Big Apple eventually have a star-studded political ballot on their hands?

A week after actor and conservative Republican Kelsey Grammer expressed interest in possibly running for mayor of New York one day, along comes Alec Baldwin to say that he, too, just might pursue the very same gig as well.

However, the 30 Rock star, a liberal Democrat who has always been politically active, tells The New York Times that he won't be throwing his hat in the ring for the 2013 election because he has an obligation to finish out the current season of his hit NBC sitcom.

What's more, the 53-year-old actor reveals that he has actually spoken to a couple of top universities about possibly enrolling in a master's program in politics and government in order to "better understand what the fiscal imperatives of that job are."

He's also keeping it all in perspective and realizes that even if he does decide to run, there's obviously no guarantee he'd win.

"I am someone who is fully prepared for the fact that I could go into this and do it and completely have my ass kicked," Baldwin says. "It would be this staggering lesson for me."

Especially if it was Frasier Crane who was doing the kicking.
