Lauryn Hill welcomed a bouncing baby boy on Saturday, but it wasn't all smooth for the singer or her new tot inside the delivery room.

Despite rumors circulating that Hill's on-again, off-again boyfriend Rohan Marley, and father to Hill's other five children, may or may not be the father, the identity of the baby-daddy was put aside after a scare the singer had while giving birth.

So what happened?

Hill and her new baby are reportedly both doing well after the little boy came out of the womb with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, reports BlackCelebKids.

A source tells the site, "Mother and baby are fine...Everyone is happy."

Last month, some drama surrounding the unborn child had surfaced, with doubts cast on whether Marley, who is the father of Hill's previous five children, was actually this baby's father too.

In a Twitter exchange with a reporter from the Houston Chronicle, Marley, the son of Bob Marley, was asked: "

"So we are clear. 1.) You're not married to your ex-wife or Lauryn, and 2.) She isn't preggo w/your child, but someone else's?"

He had responded, "That is correct until I say out of my mouth to the contrary."

Grammy winning Hill had taken time off to give birth and claimed the father was Marley.

If he does turn out to be the father, it will be Marley's eighth, as he has two children form a previous relationship.
