    Comic-Con 2011 Tile

What's one way to score your western flick some serious street cred? Get film legend Harrison Ford to play a badass, tough-as-nails cowboy in it.

For example, a look that involved a whip.

"He was written as a guy who carried a whip," Ford told our own Ben Lyons and Catt Saddler about his Cowboys & Aliens tough guy. "That was quickly forgotten. There was no discussion about it. It was just obvious."

Another potential menswear problem? The hat. No good cowboy can be without one, but ultimately, Ford found one that set his role apart from say, a famous fedora-wearing character from his past. "I had to wear the hat," he joked. "They had to listen to what I had to say."
