When it comes to lending a hand, Michelle Obama is taking the reality TV route.

The first lady is heading to Fayetteville, N.C., this week to tape an appearance on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

So what exactly will Barack Obama's better half be doing down there?

According to the White House, Obama will help expand a community resource center for homeless female veterans located near Ft. Bragg.

In particular, she'll be focusing on the building of a new greenhouse and a children's play area as part of the "Joining Forces" initiative she began with Vice President Joe Biden's wife, Jill, to provide support for service members and their families.

Look for Obama's Extreme Makeover episode to air sometime in October.
