People say "two's company and three's a crowd," but it looks like Shia LaBeouf and Robert Redford will be The Company You Keep.

Voltage Pictures and Wildwood Enterprises announced today that they have cast the Transformers star to join Redford in their latest political action thriller.

So what's it about?

Redford, who is also directing and producing the film, plays a former Weather Underground militant wanted by the FBI for 30 years, but his true identity is almost outed by a young, ambitious journalist played by LaBeouf, Variety reports.

"This is an edge-of-your-seat thriller about real Americans who stood for their beliefs, thinking they were patriots and defending their country's ideals against their government," says Voltage producer Nicolas Chartier.

"It is absolutely amazing to have Shia LaBeouf, arguably the brightest young star in Hollywood today paired with the global icon Robert Redford."

The movie, which is an adaptation of a novel by Neil Gordon, is currently in preproduction and starts filming in Vancouver this September.
