Brian Griffin would be proud!

And his kitty friends, too. ‘Cause Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is teaming up with the organization Heaven on Earth Society for Animals to help dogs, cats and a bunch of other critters in need.

So what inspired Seth to lend a helping hand to our four legged friends?

It's a tribute to his animal-loving mom!

Ann Perry MacFarlane passed away one year ago after losing her battle with cancer and her son is honoring her memory by teaming with Heaven on Earth to establish Perry's Place—The Perry MacFarlane Sanctuary.

The sanctuary will be a cage-free oasis for homeless cats that are awaiting adoption, including kittens with special needs that would otherwise be overlooked. The partnership is also starting up a campaign that will accept donations in Perry's name.

The president of the organization, Ritchie Geisel, released a statement to thank Seth, saying, "MacFarlane's generosity will not only allow us to purchase and build a new sanctuary and adoption center, it will allow us to continue our lifesaving work as Perry's special legacy."

And, if they could talk, we're sure all the homeless kittens who find a home in Perry's Place would thank him too!
