When celebs pop out offspring these days, we're practically expecting them to give their kid a totally bizarre moniker.

Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter Apple, Nicolas Cage named his son Kal-El, and now Kate Hudson has named her new baby boy Bingham Hawn Bellamy. While it's certainly not the weirdest nom-de-celebuspawn, it still raised a few eyebrows.

So papa Matt Bellamy took to Twitter to explain the couple's choice of untraditional baby names. Wondering where exactly "Bing" came from? Well…

It's a family name—on both sides!

Which should be so not surprising, seeing as Kate's eldest son's name, Ryder Russell Robinson, pays homage to granddaddy Kurt Russell. And while it's obvious where Bingham's middle name comes from (Hawn after grandma Goldie Hawn, of course), his first name is pretty familiar within their family tree too.

"For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt's dad. Family connections all round!" the Muse rocker tweeted to clear up the confusion.

Well that's definitely more logical than naming your son after your fave superhero!

Congrats again to the couple—we can't wait to peep the baby photos!
