Nicolas Cage's trouble-prone son and his wife of two months, Nikki Williams, were arrested on felony domestic violence charges, E! News can confirm.
So what went down?
Weston and his wife allegedly got into a physical altercation yesterday. A call was placed to 911 and officers arrived on the scene, taking both newlyweds into custody.
The 20-year-old Cage was charged with felony domestic violence. He spent the night in an L.A. County jail and was released today after posting $50,000 bail.
Williams was booked on the same charge but as of press time remains locked up, pending the same bail amount.
According to TMZ, the altercation between Weston and Nikki was pretty hair-raising, with the dispatcher answering the emergency call hearing "blood-curdling screams" on the other end of the line, presumably from the 22-year-old Williams. The site also reported that Nikki hit Weston with a bottle, cutting his arm, while she sustained unspecified injuries.
Upon getting out of the cooler, a clearly agitated Cage had some discerning advice for the paparazzi who ambushed him.
"Don't get married," Weston said, holding his now bandaged but still bloody arm.
Guess he's speaking from experience. He later followed up with a Facebook post in which he addressed the incident obliquely:
"Dear Earth, I have decided to accept those who despise me and accept those who love me," he wrote. "To my haters......I love that you hate me......To my lovely few (NIKKI a.k.a my perfect wife and best friend, DAD a.k.a My anchor and spiritual expander , MANDY a.k.a. MOM, My true mother and most trusted therapist, ODIN, ZEUS AND LUCI).... I LOVE YOU ALL FOR LOVING ME."
The fanboy afficionado (his superhero-loving movie star dad named his younger half-brother Kal-El afterall) continued: "I will always be a hero and a warrior; and I shall bring justice and peace through self-exerted forces of superiority and noble might. I AM MY FAMILY'S PROTECTOR FOREVER....BY THOR'S BLOOD, I F***ING SWEAR IT."
Weston also took to Nikki's Facebook page to warn her "friends" to stay out of it in a long all-caps rant.
"NIKK IS IN JAIL STILL AND IM NOT. IMAGINE HOW I FEEL KNOWING THAT MY WIFE IS IN JAIL. . .I'M GOING TO BAIL HER OUT," he wrote.
After professing his love for her, Weston added that the twosome got into this mess "because of alcohol" and he chalked the whole thing up "to a huge misunderstanding."
"I WOULD NEVER ATTACK MY WIFE. SHE WAS ABOUT TO HURT HER SELF AND HAD TO RESTRAIN HER HANDS. BROKEN BEER BOTTLES, A GASH ON MY ARM, BITE MARKS, NAIL MARK TRAILS, BRUISES AND A CONTUSION ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD? FINE I STILL LOVE YOU NIKKI GOING TO PAY 50,000 FOR YOU," Cage declared. "MAKE ME THE BAD GUY IF YOU WANT. THE VIDEO RECORDING I HAVE WITH DISAGREE WITH YOUR ACCUSATIONS."
Weston and Williams tied the knot back in April in a quickie Easter Sunday ceremony in New Orleans after a whirlwind weeklong engagement—and perhaps foreshadowing their tumultuous union, two days prior the pair appropriately exchanged rings at a bonfire in Tennessee.
