Ready to get a sneak peek at the Hobbit's Bilbo and Gandalf?

Well, here it is.

Until the fantasy flick hits theaters next year, we're giving Hobbit fans a tease of all the breathtaking adventure to come with photos of Martin Freeman and Ian McKellen striking pose inside their respective lairs. Check 'em out!

We know that look on Bilbo's face. Whenever he gets that earnest expression and the slight twinkle in his eyes, you can be sure that adventure isn't far off.

Fortunately, Gandalf looks to be the cooler head, taking some puffs on his pipe and making sure all decions are made with a clear head.

But not everyone is grasping the Gandalf cool. Director Peter Jackson recently revealed in an interview that the dwarves in the film "don't know what to make of Gandalf, they think Bilbo is a wuss, and Elrond a prissy Headmaster type."

As if our heroes aren't up against enough already.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is scheduled for release Dec. 14, 2012.
