If Twitter seems a little gentler and quieter these days, it could be because Kanye West has decided to shut himself up.

Remember his meltdown with Matt Lauer after their interview on the Today Show?

According to Kanye, Kanye is sorry but he still isn't doing interviews.

He told reporters this multiple times at the CFDAs last night while taking a leisurely stroll down the carpet...

Kanye chatted with Chloë Sevigny and Liv Tyler on the carpet but dodged reporters' questions, such as why he wore jeans to the couture event and whether he was attending fashion school in London, shaking his head almost regrettably and repeating, "Sorry, I don't do interviews."

And apparently he really doesn't anymore. Since his Today show appearance, the normally mouthy 'Ye has gone mute in the media, except for a silent interview he did during a run in with NY Mag.

Once an all-caps overtweeter, the rapper's also taken his vow of silence digital these days, too. He hasn't touched his Twitter account since March 15, more than three months ago, which we somehow failed to notice...until now.

So thank you, Kanye, for reminding us you're not talking to us and making us miss you. :(

His date for the fashion fete last night was Phoebe Philo, designer for fashion house Céline, to whom he presented an award. He rocked a women's shirt from the designer at his Coachella performance and said he loves wearing the clothes "knowing that would get me bashed by the hip-hop blogs".

The evening's emcee Anderson Cooper told me he wasn't nervous on the carpet, but admitted his anxiety to the audience during the show at Lincoln Center.

Other fierce fashionistas at the Swarovski-sponsored soiree included Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, newly blond Gerard Butler, Ashley Greene, a majorly preggers Jessica Alba and impossibly svelte new mom Miranda Kerr.
