Matthew "Mdot" Finley is lucky to be alive.
The actor, who appeared alongside Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers in Disney's Camp Rock 2, is continuing to receive treatment at UCLA Medical Center after he lost control of his motorcycle last week and found himself at the bottom of a 100-foot cliff in Malibu.
"While riding with friends, on Thursday, Mdot hit a rough patch on Mulholland Drive near Malibu," a rep for the performer tells E! News. "His bike flipped on its side, hurling Mdot and his bike—launching him over 100 feet into the base of a ravine. The L.A. County Fire Department, paramedics, and responding police officers launched a heroic rescue operation, successfully recovering Matthew."
Finley suffered multiple compound fractures and injuries to his face and head. His rep says he is having surgery today and that Finley will be in the hospital for the next couple of weeks.
But despite enduring such a horrible accident, the 23-year-old seems as if he's remaining positive about it all.
"Ducati off cliff.. more surgeries 2morrow..," he tweeted yesterday. "I WILL Survive!"
Finley's rep also revealed to E! News exclusively that this was actually his second accident on a Ducati, his first being during a recent video shoot for his new single, "I'm On It," which is about, of all things, riding a bike.
What's more, at the time of the crash, Finley was riding with the husband of Entourage star Debi Mazar.
Here's hoping Finley's back on his feet—and wheels—in no time.
