So we certainly weren't expecting any massive revelations from the recently divorced hottie when his smoldering self sat down with Details, but wouldn't you know it?
He ended up giving us a little something after all…
"I'll say this: the media was not invited to my marriage, and they're definitely not invited into the divorce," he told the magazine.
Hey, we said little something. If keeping one's private life actually private weren't such a refreshing stance, we'd be downright peeved. But he didn't clam up completely on the subject.
"Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it," the 34-year-old said. "I'm not out of it yet. At all. But I sense that as I do come through it, there's optimism. How can there not be?"
"There was no story and no scandal, so the narrative was just created for me. That was the most disturbing part. I wasn't angry. I absolutely predicted every beat of it. There's an entire economy around this sort of thing—therefore it's gotta happen one way or another."
"It just seems so kind of alien to me at this point," he said. "I've been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards."
Still, while Reynolds is obviously not opposed to a relationship sometime down the road, his lucky lady shouldn't expect him to put a ring on it. At least, not as it stands now.
"I don't think I want to get married again, but you always reevaluate these things," he said. So…bad news for that German model he was spotted hanging around South Africa with, or what?
Reynolds, as always, isn't talking…much.
"I'm very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That's OK. I didn't plan on it, that's for sure…but that's OK."
To you, maybe. Not to the millions of women who were all ready to form an orderly line.
