The Osama bin Laden-Megatron Connection?!

Twitterverse links terrorist leader's burial at sea to Transformers baddie's burial at sea—and doesn't like what it sees

Because Osama bin Laden is dead and buried, Megatron is alive and hot.

And the Twitterverse knows why.

"They buried Osama Bin Laden at sea right next to the othe greatest villain ever…MegaTron," went a post on Scary Movie star Marlon Wayans' page.

Well, not right next to…

For the record, the remains of the 9/11 mastermind, killed Sunday by U.S. Navy SEALs, were placed in the Arabian Sea, per the news, while the "lifeless shell" of the Decepticon leader was dumped into the deep waters of the Laurentian Abyss, per the Transformers Wiki.

Beyond the sea similarity, what really got the Twitterverse fired up today was the idea that, on second thought, a Megatron-style funeral wasn't the best choice for bin Laden—you know, considering what happened at the beginning of the Transformers sequel, Revenge of the Fallen.

"[Megatron] came back up and f---ed shit up," went one tweet.

A version of that tweet was tweeted and/or retweeteed so many times, by so many users, Megatron became a trendy trending topic, right up there, or down there, with bin Laden himself.

Concluded one of the more optimistic, Megatron-minded tweets: "Luckily we don't have to rely on Megan Fox."
