If you're gonna get some unpleasant business off your plate, the day of the royal wedding is certainly an opportune moment for Chace Crawford.

E! News can confirm that the Gossip Girl hunk has cut a deal in his pot-possession case that will see him avoid any time behind bars.

Not that really thought he was even in jeopardy of getting sent up the river—but we did want to know: did he get any royal treatment?

Not really. As typical of a first-timer, Crawford has entered a pretrial diversion program, meaning should he fulfill certain court-ordered obligations over the next 12 months, his criminal record will be wiped clean.

According to a spokeswoman for Collin County District Attorney's Office, the 25-year-old must stay out of trouble and avoid any criminal conduct in the next year. He must also meet with a probation officer once a month and perform 24 hours of community service. Should he adhere to these terms, his case will be dismissed.

Crawford agreed to the terms of the deal back in November, according to court records, but the news didn't become public today when there was a scheduled hearing that got canceled.

The mess stems from his arrest last June in his hometown of Plano, Texas. Cops found him to be in possession of just a single joint while Crawford and a buddy were chilling in a parked car outside a local watering hole. He was booked on misdemeanor count of marijuana possession, a charge that carries a maximum 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.

Glad he could clear that up. The thesp will next be seen on the big screen later this year in the aptly-titled comedy-drama, Peace, Love, and Understanding.
