From Nicki Minaj to George Michael to Nicole Scherzinger, a seemingly endless number of names have been thrown around as possible contenders to voice their opinions on Simon Cowell's upcoming American version of The X Factor.
Not surprisingly, the one that seems to be getting most of the attention is none other than Cowell's former American Idol cohort Paula Abdul. After all, how cool would it be to see these two reteam and challenge the very show that they initially helped to make such a TV phenomenon?
So, will the "Straight Up" singer be heading straight for the judges' table this fall? Well, this rumor is...
While Deadline does quote Cowell as saying he's "always wanted Paula" and that "she's got a really good shot" at joining him and L.A. Reid on the show, sources tell E! News nothing has actually been finalized regarding Abdul.
The same goes Cowell's former X Factor U.K. judge and pop star Cheryl Cole.
However, our sources out of the X Factor camp did call the possibilty of both Abdul and Cole joining the program's panel as "excited and optimistic speculation."
That alone, though, still puts a song in our hearts.
