It's because the Black Eyed Pea needs a break!
"She's not doing it because of me," he told me today. "She wants a little time. They've been working her like a rented mule for 8 years. She wants a little time off."
In fact, they both do:
"It's very sweet," he said of the press perception that she's putting her career on hold for him. "And I mean, we do want to take some time and I'm excited to have more time with her, but we always consider the other person when we're doing something and make sure we're scheduling enough time to be together. That's the only way to make it work."
As for their favorite thing to do during their downtime, Josh said they love working up a sweat together.
"Exercise," he told me. "It's one thing we love to do when we're home. She pushes me and I push her and I think it's important."
Josh, who been filming New Year's Eve in NYC, was on hand in this morning along with Ali Larter, to launch Reebok RealFlex shoes.
And it sounds like someone has babies on the brain, too.
When new mom Ali explained how the shoes helped her get back into shape after giving birth in December, Josh quickly interjected: "Are you having any more?"
