Too much monkey business made The Hangover Part II trailer awesome—but not fit for audiences of all ages.

Warner Bros. has pulled the existing trailer for the R-rated sequel from theaters amid objections from the Motion Picture Association of America regarding the Wolfpack's amorous pet monkey.

"In our haste to meet the placement schedule for this trailer, we failed to properly vet the final version with the MPAA," Warner Bros. explained in a statement to E! News. "We acted immediately to correct the mistake and removed the trailer from screens."

The scene in question, which originally capped off the 2-minute, 20-second trailer, features Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and the primate companion they've somehow acquired after a wild night out in Bangkok riding on bus. Galifianakis' Alan sticks a water bottle in the pants of an elderly gentleman sitting next to him, and the monkey jumps on the guy's lap and starts gnawing away.

"When a monkey nibbles on a wiener, it's funny in any language," Alan says. True, but it's also pushing the envelope in any language, too.

A revised trailer will be back in theaters April 15.
