Adam Sandler has been gearin' up for his new upcoming comedy I Hate You Dad, and it looks like he's cast 90's rapper Vanilla Ice AKA Robert Van Winkle!

After having a one-hit wonder and dealing with domestic violence charges which were subsequently dropped, we're pretty sure Winkle's hoping this movie gets him back into the limelight.

And don't worry, he won't be portraying a rapper...

According to Variety, Ice will play Sandler's longtime friend. Sandler's character will take on the role of Andy Samberg's dad who moves in with him and his fiancee, whom he immediately starts feuding with.

No word yet as to who is set to play Samberg's wife-to-be, but the trade reports Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is in talks for the part.

This isn't the first flick the faded hip-hopster's appeared in. When he's not doing cameos as himself, once upon a time he made his feature debut as a club performer in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze. And following the success of "Ice Ice Baby," he went on to star in 1991's Cool As Ice which nabbed him a Golden Raspberry for Worst New Star.

So what do you guys think? Is Ice back with a brand new invention? Weigh in on the comments below!
