Do Two Celebrities Make a Right?

This weekend, Reese Witherspoon and her Hollywood agent BF tied the knot, which got me thinking: Can two celebrities actually make a marriage work?

Reese and Ryan Phillippe divorced in 2006 after two kids and 7 years of marriage. And this just starts a long list of failed famous relationships: Courteney Cox and David Arquette, Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds, Sean Penn and Robin Wright, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams, etc.

These splits are understandable because, most of the time, these famous relationships are doomed from the beginning. Not only do you have movies that keep you apart for months at a time, but there can be jealousy, competition and fans throwing themselves at you all the time (which is not good for anyone's relationship).

I think Reese is onto something. If you are famous, you should find someone who understands your profession, but doesn't do it. This includes agents, manager, publicists, entertainment lawyers, CEOs, directors, producers, news correspondents and Greek shipping/oil heirs.

So if you are famous, single and actually want to build a relationship that works, don't look to date your co-stars…just ask them to set you up with their agent.

Happy hunting!
