Jayma Mays is a lot like her character on Glee, Emma Pillsbury.

Like a real lot!

Get a load of what she told me yesterday about last week's episode...

During last week's show, Emma performed "Afternoon Delight" with members of her abstinence club. But when substitute sex ed teacher Holly Holliday (Gwyneth Paltrow) tells her that that the song is actually about having sex, a flustered Emma explains she thought it was about enjoying a piece of pie.

"I didn't know it was so dirty," Mays said at the John Varvatos Stuart House benefit. "I don't know if I thought it was about pie, but I can remember singing that song with my parents when I was growing up. That's so creepy now."

Oh, it gets better.

"My mom and dad wrote me an email the next morning [after the episode] and were like, 'We had no idea what that meant!" Mays laughed. "We're like the most innocent family ever."

And the horrible Partridge Family-esque outfit Emma wore during the performance? "Oh my God, I loved that dress so much," Mays admitted. "So many of my friends texted me after seeing it and were like, 'I bet you were in heaven that day.' That is such a dress I would wear to a pool party. It's tacky, but I just loved it. I loved it so much."

Let's just hope she doesn't say the same thing about wearing plastic gloves while eating her lunch.
