Well, Sarah Palin just gave Kathy Griffin enough material to keep her on the road through the end of the year.
The Palin family matriarch turned arch nemesis and (sorry, Seacrest) go-to punching bag of Griffin's act finally struck back against the barrage of digs, not only blasting the Bravo funnylady but giving her a challenge to pick on someone her own age—namely, her.
Like mother, like daughter.
While being interviewed by Fox News over the weekend, anchor Jeanine Pirro brought up the topic of Griffin's upcoming guest spot on Glee, on which she'll reportedly play a Palinesque Tea Partier. And then the floodgates opened.
"You know, Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because, you know, she's kind of this—she's a 50-year-old adult bully, really, is what she is," Palin said.
"Kind of a has-been comedian, and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children. As she had stated on CNN that her New Year's resolution was to destroy my 16-year-old daughter, that takes it a little bit too far."
Kathy did indeed vow to dedicate her 2011 to bringing down Willow Palin, telling the Hollywood Reporter that, "I've already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol, obviously. But I think it's Willow's year to go down."
Not simply a throwaway joke, Griffin said she would publicly take the teen to task for her frequent and well-documented use of gay slurs online.
"She's called people a f-----t on Facebook a couple of times. You don't throw around the F-word without hearing from me about it."
Palin, naturally, had no comment on that portion of Kathy's argument, but nevertheless used her Fox News segment to issue a throwdown to Griffin:
"Kathy, pick on me, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone."
Uh, Sarah? We're pretty sure that's an offer Kathy can't refuse. Particularly given her response when informed on Twitter that Palin called her out on TV.
"U made my day!"
