Florence Welch is on fire—and it has nothing to do with her fierce red hair.
On Oscar Sunday, the British rocker pulled double duty, performing at the actual ceremony as well as at Elton John's star-studded afterparty with her band Florence + the Machine.
Of course, it doesn't hurt to have famous fans, including Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens and Blake Lively. In fact, the Gossip Girl star is such a big Flo groupie that Lively personally secured the singer a guest spot on her show:
"[Blake] actually came to our very first New York show," Florence told me at Elton's party on Sunday. "She's been to all of the shows that we've done in America and she flew out to Las Vegas just because I was performing there over the New Year."
Wow, that's a nice friend, huh?
Not that Florence probably had to twist Blake's arm to come to Vegas for the Cosmopolitan hotel opening, which was the place to be to bid 2010 adieu.
It really pays to be buds with Blake, too, as Florence said she's the one who hooked up a guest spot on her CW show in February!
"She asked if I wanted to come on Gossip Girl and so we were already friends," the singer explained. "I love Blake. She's a great girl!"
And she clearly has great taste in music, too.
Perhaps Florence can return the love and have Blake sing back up for her or something at the next show?
