Fashion Police is the funniest show on TV—I love your comments. Are sleeveless dresses proper for a 61-year-old woman?
Dear Sizzling 60:
Thank you. Flattery will get you almost everywhere, but you better have the arms of a 20-year-old if you want to wear a sleeveless dress at age 61, otherwise, cover up those chicken wings!
First off, I love you and love the show! Also wanted to say that Kelly Osbourne looked so glam in the SAGs Fashion Police show and I really admire her and how far she has come. I am a mother at home with a 2-year-old and 12-week-old. I am working hard to lose my last 10 pounds and my self-esteem is suffering. Kelly raves about Spanx and I am seriously considering ordering myself a pair. Could you send me the details of where I can order them so I don't find myself buying from a fake distributor?
Dear Yummy Mummy:
Congratulations to you! Two kids and only 10 pounds left to go? You're doing great. But I agree, everyone should have some sort of body-shaping underwear. Find a major retailer that carries Spanx in your area, like Holt Renfrew, or order them from the company's website.
I love four- to five-inch heels with the platform at the toe. They look lovely with skirts and dresses, but I'd like to pair them with slacks. I was always taught that the hemline of the pants should hit the top of the shoe. This, of course, makes for some long pants but also hides the gorgeous shoe. Can I wear a shorter pant with these shoes? And, if so, what is the appropriate length?
Dear Platform Princess:
I love a woman who loves her heels! And you can absolutely wear them with cropped pants that hit just below the calf or a skinny style that stops at the ankle, which will allow you to show off your gorgeous shoes.
What is the one must-have item for spring 2011?
Dear Seasonably Stylish:
You mean other than something from my QVC collection? Anything with color: clothes, accessories, even your makeup. You don't have to ditch your favorite black or neutrals, but you'll want to add a pop of bright, saturated color to keep your look current.
