Which Glee Stars Were MIA from Super Bowl Commercial—and Why?

Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron and Chris Colfer did not appear in the ad designed to look like a segment from the show

Lea Michele was everywhere last night! She opened the Super Bowl with "America the Beautiful," she starred in a Chevy ad during the commercial breaks and then gave us a Thrill during "The Sue Sylvester Bowl Shuffle" episode of Glee. But if Glee's leading lady had time to be everywhere all at once, why couldn't her costars Cory Monteith, Dianna Agron and Chris Colfer be found in that retro-styled Chevy commercial made to look like an episode of the show?

In case you were wondering why Rachel, Mercedes, Brittany, Santana, Tina, Artie, Sam, Puck, Mike Chang, Sue Sylvester and Becky were in the commercial, but Finn, Quinn and Kurt were absent, here's what we can tell you:

"Cast members participated as their schedules allowed," says a Fox spokeswoman. Meanwhile a rep for Monteith got more specific: "Cory was unable to participate in the shoot due to a scheduling conflict. He was in Vancouver shooting an independent film called Brothers & Sisters."

Reps for Colfer and Agron did not respond to requests for comment by press time, but perhaps it's as simple as storyline conflicts (perhaps Chris Colfer's Kurt Hummel couldn't realistically be written into the ad because his character is currently singing with the Dalton Academy Warblers?) or busy schedules (Dianna Agron has been doing tons of publicity for her upcoming film I Am Number Four).

Which Super Bowl advertisements were your faves? What did you think of the Glee episode that followed the game?
