David Beckham Slammed in Latest Court Drama

Motion is filed by In Touch Weekly magazine in response to soccer star suing about a story that he had an affair with a hooker

The proverbial ball is getting kicked back into David Beckham's court.

Bauer Publishing Co., the parent company of In Touch Weekly, has filed a motion in connection with the soccer star's lawsuit regarding a story the magazine ran about him having an affair with a high-priced hooker.

In court documents—which refer to the soccer star as a "serial philanderer"—the magazine outlines how editors learned of Beckham's extramarital affair with call girl Irma Nici after conducting a three-hour interview with her with corroborating details from other sources.

Beckham has denied the affair.

The publication's attorneys legal position counters the athlete's assertion that the news stories about him cheating on his wife Victoria are not a matter of public interest by citing the fact that Beckham has made his personal life public by selling photos relating to his marriage for over one million pounds.

What's more, In Touch's legal eagles state that Beckham, while denying the affair story is true, has never shown that it was published with actual malice.

A hearing on the matter will be be held on Feb. 14.
