Mick Hutson/Redferns; NFphoto.com Reports that Denise Richards and Nikki Sixx have called it quits have been greatly exaggerated.
Why? Quite simply...
They would have had to have been actually dating to split up. A source tells me that things between Richards, 39, and the Mötley Crüe rocker, 52, never got anywhere near as serious as some celeb tabloids have claimed.
"They went out a couple of times and that's it," the source said. "It was nothing. They've known each other for years because they're neighbors but it never developed into anything."
The two were said to be hooking up shortly after they were spotted early last month having breakfast together not far from their L.A.-area homes. About a week later, they were spotted again hanging with some of Sixx's friends at Joe's American Bar in Burbank. Not long after, Richards told Andy Cohen on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live that the two were taking things very slowly.
One celeb rag even claimed that Richards invited Sixx to spend Christmas with her and her family, but I'm told that was bogus. "Denise would never do that to her daughters, just bring around some guy who she went on a couple of dates with," the source said.
The last time they apparently saw each other was before the holiday when they went to see Little Fockers.
Richards was most recently spotted showing off quite the bikini bod while on vacation in Hawaii. Her memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, is set for release in April. I'm told the book, while it will address her and Charlie Sheen's marriage and divorce, is not a tell-all.
