We still don't yet know exactly what was ailing Aretha Franklin, but rest assured: now she's feeling "great."
After undergoing a "highly successful" surgery in Detroit for the undisclosed illness, the Queen of Soul has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
Here's what she says in a statement:
Franklin promised she would soon be more forthcoming about her ailment. "I will talk more later," she tells Jet magazine.
Various outlets, including her hometown newspapers, have reported she is suffering from incurable pancreatic cancer.
The 68-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also says she is looking forward to Christmas. "God has given me the greatest gift already for the holidays," she says to Jet. "I am so grateful."
