Charlie Sheen can put that Plaza panic behind him.

The Two and a Half Men star will not face criminal charges over his October freakout at New York's Plaza Hotel, E! News has learned.

"There have been no arrests. That case is closed," said an NYPD spokesman.

Police began probing the incident after Sheen's escort for the evening, porn star Capri Anderson, filed a criminal complaint claiming she was the victim of assault and harassment. She alleged that 45-year-old thesp got drunk and began yelling and throwing furniture, prompting her to lock herself in the bathroom.

Cops were called to the scene and reported an "emotionally disturbed individual" in the suite and carted Sheen off to a nearby hospital for observation.

According to an NYPD insider, the fact that his Plaza pal waited a full month to file the police report and said at the scene that she was never in any physical danger was a big factor in declining to refer the case to prosecutors.

Anderson later hinted that she would sue Sheen over the affair. However, she has yet to do so after the actor filed a lawsuit that accused her of being a "publicity-hungry scam artist" out to extort money from him over an encounter that was purely "consensual."

No immediate comment from either Sheen or Anderson.
