Harry Potter star David Thewlis and his longtime love, Pushing Daisies actress Anna Friel, are finally confirming what's been suspected for some time: Their nine-year relationship has come to the bitter end.

The duo had repeatedly denied they were on the rocks, but after spending most of the past six months apart due to "acting commitments" they've called it quits, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail.

But rumors have dogged the couple since Friel was photographed in December 2009 kissing a handsome young costar named Joseph Cross, who had been staying with the couple at their Hollywood home.

Friel claimed she and the 23-year-old Cross were "just friends," having first appeared together in the West End's Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Friel, 34, and the older Thewlis, 47, fell for each other after a chance meeting on a 2001 flight to Cannes and bought a home in Hollywood together.

A friend told the U.K.'s Daily Mail that the duo had been in trouble for some time and that the couple kept it on the down low in order to protect their 5-year-old daughter, Gracie.

Thewlis and Friel will be forced to act cordial no matter what went down—they co-starred in the upcoming London Boulevard starring Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell and will likely have to do press together for the film's February release.
