Be still our holiday-lovin' hearts, Michael C. Hall is a Christmas carol crooner!

Sure, we've always known our favorite serial killer's alter ego got his start on the stage, but who knew he could sing like that?! Well, secret's out courtesy of Michael's appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and now there's only one thing on our minds: Dexter: The Musical.

Is it even possible? Here's what MCH had to say:

Lloyd Bishop/NBC

After performing what he believed to be Dexter's favorite holiday song (a murderously good rendition of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" including this lyric tweak: "He's gonna find out whose cheek he should slice"), Jimmy asked Michael the ultimate question: "Why isn't someone like you on Glee?!"

"It's timing," the actor laughed. "I'm open to that."

And then, being the amazing sport he is, MCH delivered this little gem: "I think maybe next season we're going to do an all-musical episode of Dexter."

For realsies?! "No, no..." Sigh. Oh well, a girl can always dream.

Michael was kind enough to give fans a tease of things to come in Sunday's crazy-anticipated season finale of Dexter—are you ready?

"Someone will die."

Gasp! What are the odds?

In all seriousness, we thought we couldn't possibly love Michael C. Hall any more than we already did. Color us wrong.

Dexter's fifth season finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on Showtime. Do. Not. Miss. It.

We'll also be chatting with Dexter show runner Sara Colleton tomorrow morning, so send your burning Q's our way now.
