"No, I don't actually," he told me at Variety's Power of Comedy event sponsored by The Sims in partnership with Bing, where he was getting honored last night, "It's probably become a little bit more devious."
As for whether Katy approves of his off-color comedy, the crazily-coiffed comedian said they have a deal...
"I think we have a pact with our professional lives. It's all just pretend," he explained.
Although Katy didn't introduce her man last night (she was actually backstage), another very special woman was on hand to present Russell's award: Helen Mirren!
The unlikely friends become close after working together on two movies.
"He's the best, kindest and goodest bad boy you're ever going to be lucky enough to meet," Helen told the crowd at Club Nokia.
And as promised, Russell's remarks during his acceptance speech were definitely dirty.
On stage, he talked about being arrested 12 times and his days as a sex and drug addict. "In them days, I could have laid waste to this room," he told the audience, before mimicking a fan. 'Can I get an autograph?' Yes! On the wall of your uterus."
Despite all the jokes, last night had a serious side, as well. The event benefitted the Noreen Fraser foundation, which supports women's cancer research. Russell's mother had cancer herself three different times, which he told the audience.
"I think this [award] might be a loophole for touching women's tits," he joked, "Free breast exams outside!"
