Thankfully, Portia de Rossi DeGeneres decided to change more than just her name.
Ellen DeGeneres' significant other has taped an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, airing Monday, during which she opens up about the onetime eating disorder that caused the actress to consume, literally, next to nothing…
"Three hundred calories…a day," reveals Portia while discussing the struggle that is the focus of her new book, Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain.
Such a limited diet obviously took it's toll, causing the former Arrested Development star to drop down to a terrifying 82 pounds.
"It wasn't that I was proud of it," she tells Oprah. "But it was certainly a recognition for my self-control. I definitely had some pretty amazing willpower to get down to 82 pounds. And that's what I was holding on to. I didn't think about anything else."
Portia's book is due out Nov. 1.
