Maybe Khloé Kardashian Odom can give Monica some advice on being a basketball wife.
The songbird just got engaged to L.A. Laker Shannon Brown, breaking the news by tweeting a pic of herself wearing a huge rock over the weekend and thanked her supporters for the love.
The 29-year-old singer, whose hits include "Before You Walk Out of My Life" and the Grammy-winning duet "The Boy Is Mine" with Brandy, began dating Brown, 24, after he starred in her "Love All Over Me," playing—conveniently enough—the man she marries.
After the video wrapped, the duo were spotted vacationing in Cabo in September.
On her Twitter, Monica insisted to the doubters that she has found real love, despite their whirlwind romance.
"We realize people will have their opinions. That's the way of the world. But we know who we are&who's we are.We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether," Monica tweeted. "And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporters who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u, & I'm realistic enough about life To know my journey has just begun. I don't have anything else to say about it.2 people who judge. If u worked on self u wouldn't even see me."
Let's hope Brown brings some stability to her life.
Her childhood sweetheart committed suicide in front of her and she was later linked to rapper C-Murder, who is currently serving a lifetime sentence for a murder conviction.
Earlier this year, Monica announced her separation from her husband, rapper Rodney "Rocko" Hill Jr., whom she had been with since she was 19. They had married secretly and had two children together.
