UPDATE: A Dew Tour rep says Lavin is in the intensive care unit and currently stabilized.

"A designer for the course this weekend, TJ is an important member of the Dew Tour family," read a statement. "The Tour, athletes and action sports industry are all keeping him in our thoughts and prayers."

MTV's T.J. Lavin is in the fight of his life.

The BMX star and host of the cable net's Real World/Road Rules Challenge is in a coma in critical condition after wiping out while competing in the Dew Tour Championships last night in Las Vegas.

According to ESPN, the 33-year-old Lavin was attempting to perform a "nac nac" combination jump during a qualifier on the second set of a dirt course when he lost control of his bike upon landing, was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious.

The X Games champ was transported to the trauma center of the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where doctors put him in a medically induced coma to relieve swelling on his brain. He also sustained a shattered right wrist and broken ribs in the mishap.

Besides emceeing his MTV show for 10 seasons, Lavin also has appeared on an episode of Cribs and has a video game named in his honor, MTV Sports: T.J. Lavin's Ultimate BMX.

We're sending our thoughts.
