Maria Bello's history of singledom is coming to an end.

The History of Violence star and beau Bryn Mooser are planning to tie the knot, her rep tells E! News.

"She's very happy," says publicist Heidi Schaeffer.

The betrotheds, both 41, broke the news of their engagement to the local Times Herald of Norristown, Pa. According to their hometown newspaper, Bello and Mooser, described as a musician, artist and part-time waiter, "fell in love over a sheer passion of politics, Africa and cryptozoology."

No word on whether Bigfoot played a big role in their romance, but the nuptial news represents a big change for Bello, who recently told the New York Post she "was always antimarriage."

"I didn’t' understand monogamy," she said. "I couldn't figure out how that could last. And then I met Bryn and I started to understand the beauty of constancy and history and change and going on the roller coaster with someone—of having a partner in life."

The former ER actress previously dated actor Dan McDermott, with whom she had a son, Jackson Blue, now 7, but the two never made it official

Bello next appears on the big screen with Brendan Fraser in the summer blockbuster The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, opening this weekend.

No wedding date has been announced.
