Laura Dern and Hubby Ben Harper Split

File this under shocking: Notoriously private pair Laura Dern and Ben Harper have split suddenly after five years of marriage.
The Grammy-winning musician reportedly filed for divorce from the Oscar-nominated actress Friday, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of the couple's two young children.
While the impending divorce may seem to have come from left field, the court petition claims Harper, 40, and Dern, 43, actually separated in January.
The onetime happy couple wed back in 2005, and have two young kids together, son Ellery, 9, and daughter Jaya, 5.
Dern's rep told E! News that she had no comment at this time.
